Names follow the wording of 5 U.S.C. § 6103. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday is listed as the observed day under 5 U.S.C. 6103(b); when it falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is listed as the observed day under Executive Order 11582 §3(a), as published by OPM. The type labels and the calendar display are compiled by semku from these sources.

Holiday data: source and updates

semku compiles the calendar and the list from 5 U.S.C. § 6103 and the OPM schedule. Names follow the law, and the observed dates follow 5 U.S.C. 6103(b) and Executive Order 11582 §3(a) as published by OPM.

Federal holidays shown here follow the OPM schedule for Federal employees. For most Federal employees, a Saturday holiday is observed on the preceding Friday for pay and leave purposes. This calendar does not determine days off for private employers, banks or stock exchanges (OPM Federal Holidays).

Each year the OPM schedule for the following year is checked and the new year’s data and calendar are added. If the law changes, a holiday is declared or the published data is corrected, the contents are checked and updated. The confirmation date and data version change with each update.

Years whose schedule has not been published are not shown. State holidays are not included.

Frequently asked questions
When are the 2026 federal holidays?
The 2026 federal holiday list contains 11 statutory federal holidays and 12 listed days in total. 1 listed day falls on a weekend: July 4, 2026 (Sat) Independence Day. There is 1 observed day for this year’s holidays. No observed days for next year’s holidays are listed. Within 2026, there are 8 stretches of at least 3 consecutive days. The 8 longest stretches each last 3 days; one example is January 17, 2026 (Sat)–January 19, 2026 (Mon). Calculated from Saturdays, Sundays and this list for a standard Monday–Friday Federal work schedule; see the question below about who has these days off.
What is an observed day?
When a federal holiday falls on a Saturday, the Friday before is the observed day for most Federal employees (5 U.S.C. 6103(b)); when it falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is the observed day (Executive Order 11582 §3(a)). The listed observed day for 2026 holidays is July 3, 2026 (Fri) Independence Day (observed). No observed days for next year’s holidays are listed in 2026. See the OPM Federal Holidays page.
Are federal holidays the same as days off for everyone?
No. Federal holidays are the holidays for Federal employees under 5 U.S.C. § 6103. For most Federal employees, a Saturday holiday is observed on the preceding Friday for pay and leave purposes. This calendar does not determine days off for private employers, banks or stock exchanges. State holidays are not included.
How do I print the calendar on an A4 sheet?
For a whole year, press “Print the whole year on one sheet”; for one month, choose the month and press “Print one month on one sheet”. In the print dialog, set the paper to A4 and the orientation to landscape, and check in the preview that no text or memo is cut off. Memos and days off shown on screen are printed too. If the memos do not fit on one sheet for the whole year, choose a month and use “Print one month on one sheet”, or shorten the memos.
Is the 2027 calendar available?
Yes, on the Calendar 2027 page. It reflects the 2027 federal holidays published by OPM. Memos and days off are saved per year, so what you saved for 2026 is not carried over to 2027.
Can I switch between a Sunday and a Monday week start?
Choose “Sunday” or “Monday” under “First day of the week”. The order of the weekdays in the calendar changes, and printing uses the same order. Holiday dates and saved memos and days off do not change.

Privacy on this page

Memos and days off are processed in your browser and, when saved, stay in this device’s browser (localStorage). The dates you select, the memos you enter and the day-off settings are not sent to the server or put in the URL to save them. semku cannot see the saved data and does not sync or back it up to other browsers or devices. You can delete it with the delete functions on the page or by clearing your browser data.

To understand how the page is used and to improve the service, this page sends semku’s own usage statistics and automatic error reports. They go only to the dedicated endpoint under semku.com/api/telemetry/v1/. They are not used for advertising or third-party tracking.

The usage statistics include stages of use (such as starting an operation or requesting a copy), the times they occur and fixed identifiers that distinguish the page and feature. They do not include the dates you select, memos, day-off settings or the text you copy. Inputs are not sent as hashes or as size categories either. The full URL and search terms are not sent.

Operations and sessions are distinguished by randomly generated identifiers. In the browser, these identifiers exist only in temporary memory and are not written to cookies or browser storage. No identification based on cookies or combined device characteristics is used.

Error reports contain the error type, code and time, and, where available, a registered program-source identifier with line and column numbers. The error message text and stack traces are not sent. Usage statistics and error reports also carry the site identifier, the deployment version and a random record identifier. For access records such as IP addresses, browser signals (User-Agent Client Hints), region and language, see the paragraph below.

The feedback form sends the rating you chose and the text you typed in the free-text field when you press the send button. The form also sends a random ID that distinguishes the submission, along with the page, site, deployment version and type of request. There are no fields for your name, email address or phone number, and calendar dates, memos or day-off settings are not attached automatically. Before sending your text, the widget removes leading and trailing whitespace and, if you selected a rating, adds [+1] or [-1] at the start; it makes no other changes to your text. After receipt, the collector standardizes line endings and removes leading and trailing whitespace. Please do not enter personal data, passwords, authentication keys or payment details.

To improve the service, we record the country and state/province-level region at the time of your visit (an estimate based on the connecting network), which site you came from including the page path, and one display-language setting announced by your browser (for example, en-US). Location is kept to country and region only; no city or precise position is recorded. When you use the service, connection records, including your IP address, are automatically generated and retained to maintain service security and identify abnormal access. Cloudflare is the data processor for this site. Collection of this item is enabled only after this notice is published; we do not collect it retrospectively for use before collection is enabled. Query strings such as search terms are not recorded, and neither is the full list of preferred languages or the raw request headers. Collection of this information is currently disabled and will only be enabled after this notice is published. If we enable collection, we will collect and use signals your browser reports about its type and version, along with an indication of whether automation tools are being used, to identify bots. These browser signals are estimates and do not conclusively identify your browser's type or version or whether automation tools are being used. We do not collect it retrospectively for use before collection is enabled. The raw User-Agent request header is not recorded. These records are per visit only and use no identifier that links one visit to another. Recording starts only with visits after this notice is published and is not applied retroactively to earlier visits. The region and the referring site have been recorded since 2026-09-20; the display language since 2026-09-24. Browser signals are not recorded yet.

Separately, when you visit the site, the hosting provider records your IP address, the time of the request and user-agent information about your browser and device in Cloudflare Pages’ standard access logs.

For details, see the privacy policy.

The calendar runs in your browser. Memos and days off you save are kept only in this browser, with no server sync or backup. See “Privacy on this page” for information about access data.
